Important Work

Note: The following came in from a Wyoming Democratic Activist. While we attempt to share work that reflects the WDP platform, you may come across some words that are not exactly what WDP would have written. Perhaps you will agree with and value what you read below, perhaps not. Your mileage may vary. -ed.

I was fortunate to attend the Wyoming Democratic Convention in Casper recently. More than 140 delegates participated, and for the first time, all 23 Wyoming counties now have Democratic Party organizations. That achievement is an encouraging sign of growing engagement and enthusiasm across our state.

The weekend was filled with important work. Delegates adopted new bylaws, developed a 2026 Wyoming Democratic Platform, and heard from Democratic National Committee Chair Ken Martin and Tennessee State Senator London Lamar at the annual Nellie Tayloe Ross Dinner.

What stood out most was the passion, commitment and determination of Democrats from every corner of Wyoming. The convention reminded us that positive change begins with people who are willing to show up, get involved, and work together to make a difference.

With fewer than 150 days until the general election, the work ahead is both important and urgent. Strengthening our party and building our capacity for the months ahead is our top priority.

Here in Teton County, we will continue doing what we do best: bringing people together for meaningful conversations and community engagement. Recent events such as our Legislative Lookback and the upcoming County Commissioner housing debate on July 7 demonstrate the important role civic dialogue plays in our community.

Over the next five months, our focus will be on:

  • Helping first-time voters register and reconnecting with voters who may have been removed from the voter rolls.
  • Supporting Democratic candidates in Teton County and across Wyoming with resources, volunteers and visibility.
  • Expanding our fundraising efforts to ensure campaigns have the tools they need to succeed.
  • Working with Democrats across Wyoming to build momentum and compete effectively in legislative races throughout the state.
  • Growing our volunteer network for voter outreach and door-to-door canvassing.

There is a role for everyone in this effort. Whether you can volunteer a few hours, attend an event, make a contribution or simply help spread the word, your participation matters.

Politics isn’t always the easiest topic of conversation, but these conversations shape the future of our communities. I am always happy to meet over coffee, lunch, or a walk to talk about how you can get involved.

Together, we can continue building a stronger, more engaged community and a stronger Wyoming.
