HB 174 – Voluntary Paid Family & Medical Leave failed introduction by one vote.
This was good bi-partisan policy that would have supported the ability of our hard working families to care for their children and loved ones in difficult times. Representative Sherwood said, “Our moms and dads are the lifeblood of our workforce. Wyoming’s economy is stronger when we invest in tools that help families balance paid work and caregiving”.
It is unfortunate that the opposition is filled with elected representatives who say they care about workers and family values but vote against them and opposes policies like paid sick leave or family leave.
