Greetings, all!
Well, we are 12 days away from the election and if you haven’t already voted absentee, I know you are excited to go to the polls on November 5th to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz! I thought you’d like to see these little maps from yesterday’s Washington Post. The full article shows where campaign money is coming from for nearly every zip code in America. (I supplied a link; hope there isn’t a paywall!)
I pulled out the Wyoming map then drilled in a bit more for our beloved 82301 zip code. As you can see, 43 of us have sent a total of $4,000 to Vice President Harris and 38 of our neighbors have sent a total of $6,000 to the former president.
To me, that shows there is more support for VP Harris in Carbon County than we think! To that end, we still have some yard signs left for $15 each…of the 42 of you who have made campaign donations (Christine and I are #43), I’m sure some of you would like to let your neighbors know where you stand. You might be surprised to find out how many neighbors stand with you!
In addition, we have about 20 more Harris/Walz window decals (photo attached). If you’d like one, let me know and I’ll get it to you. I’ve seen a couple in the City Market parking lot which led to some “great bumper sticker” conversations with people I didn’t know. Its good to know that in a “red” county there are a lot of “blue” folks who still know how to think for themselves!
Christine and I spent last week in Washington, D.C. to reacquaint ourselves with things we love about America. I’ll write a bit about it the next day or so, but suffice it to say we were awed, inspired, and energized by our tours of the White House, the Capitol, the National Archives, and more.
We can’t wait to vote!
